Post Deluge Updates

Many of you know that we experienced some minor flooding over the past couple weeks and had to close down for a few days to deal with the clean up.  We are happy to report that all systems have returned to normal! And we took the opportunity to make a couple minor repairs and improvements to the mat area that we've been wanting to make for a while.  Just another example of how every set back can be turned into an opportunity to grow and improve!  A big thanks is due to Sensei Colin Miessler for donating his time to help us out!

July 4th hours

Next week Tuesday we will be closed for Independence Day.  If you are signed up for our Summer Camp classes, please note that there will be no camp classes at all next week.  The camp will resume the following week on July 10th and continue through the first week of August.  All other classes will be at their regular times next week.  Students who normally come on Tuesdays are welcome to join us on Monday or Wednesday to make up the class time! We hope everyone has a happy and safe Independence Day!

Independence Day Parade Details

Here are all the details concerning this Saturday's Independence Day Parade.  The parade begins at 2:00 at Grant Community Highschool.  We ask that all students and families who would like to walk in the parade with us meet at the line up at 1:30.  Please note that you cannot drop off walkers at the highschool! Parents can park at Maravella's across the street, walk across to the drop off and then park the cars by the movie theater, where the parade will end around 3:00.  If anyone would like to catch a ride in the parade vehicle, we will be meeting at the dojo at 1:00!  Space is limited, so if you would like to jump in with us, please let us know!  We welcome all students to walk with us as demonstrators! We will also have things to pass out to spectators, so parents, you are welcome too! We will have some water bottles in a cooler in the truck,  but extra water is always recommended. If you have any additional questions, or if you are interested in joining us, please let us know! Hope to see everyone there!

Independence Day Parade

We are just 2 weeks away from the annual Fox Lake Independence Day Parade!  The parade will be held at 2pm on Saturday July 1st.  The line up will be at Grant Community High School at 285 E Grand Ave.  The parade route ends at the corner of Rollins and Grand, and parking is usually available by the theater, and is also available just a block away at the dojo. We will keep everyone posted on more details next week.  All students are welcomed and encouraged to participate in the parade!  There will also be festivities at Lakefront Park following the parade, from 3 to 11pm, with fireworks taking place at dusk! We hope you'll join us!

Now taking T-shirt pre-orders

Update: It's not too late to place an order for apparel!  If you would still like to place an order, please let us know this week!

We will be placing an order to replenish our supply of T-shirts at the beginning of next week! If anyone missed the last order and would like to get some extra shirts, here is your chance to order them in the color of your choice! Once again we will be offering the shirts at our pre-order rate of 2 for $30 (regular price is $20).

The logo color will again be red and silver, so please choose shirt color options accordingly. For example, the silver in the logo doesn't show up very well against a lighter background so darker is better.  Similarly, redder tones might wash out the red of the logo... If there is a different logo color anyone would like to see on a t-shirt, please let us know! We need a minimum of 12 items per logo color to make it happen!

We would like to get this order in early next week, so please let us know by Saturday if you would like to place any orders!

Adult Unlimited Special Pricing

Right now we are offering our Adult Unlimited 3 Month Intro Program for just $300! You get access to all of our Adult classes, 2 to 3 hrs per day, 6 days per week for the cost of a single program. That's a $90 savings! Come in and try a class for Free before you commit! Sign up and get 15% off all gear costs when purchased through our website!

Summer Schedule Changes

We've modified our Adult class schedule slightly for the Summer! Monday and Wednesday nights we will be running Jiu Jitsu first at 7:00 and Kickboxing at 8:00. Schedule changes are effective as of this week!  Hope to see you in class!

Summer Camp updates!

Summer camp begins next week, and we've extended it to run for 6 weeks instead of 5! The extra week will be the first week of August. The cost for the full 6 weeks is still just $200, or $40 for each individual week. For existing students who are still participating in the evening programs for the summer, take 50% off regular camp prices! Pre-register by this Friday for the full 6 week camp, or by the Friday before the individual week you plan to attend! Please contact us if you are interested in attending!

Summer Camp Opportunity!

We are excited to announce that we will be running some additional classes during the morning hours this summer, hosted by our very own Sensei Colin and Sensei Vito! The classes will run Monday and Wednesday mornings from 10:00 to 12:00 from June 19th through July 26th.  It will be a 5 week camp (minus the week of July 4th), and students will have the option of attending week by week for $40 per week or all 5 weeks for $200.  Sensei Colin and Vito bring their own unique styles and interests in martial arts training, and we hope you'll take advantage of this great opportunity to develop some skills that may not be covered during regular class hours!  Special pricing available to existing students who continue with their regular programs through the summer. More details to come, but please give us a call at 847-973-9443 if you're interested in signing up!  The preregistration deadline for the full 5 weeks is June 16th.  If you would like to just do 1 week, the preregistration deadline is the Friday before the week you want to attend.

Open Enrollment Week

Just a reminder that next week is Open Enrollment week in all of our Kids classes! This is the best week to get started in our 12 week introductory program.  For class times and descriptions, please click here.  No matter what age, our programs are designed to help your child achieve greater levels of focus, self control and confidence in a fun and friendly class atmosphere. If you're not sure it's right for you, try your first class free! Please give us a ring at 847-973-9443 if you'd like to schedule your free intro!

Promotions and Open Enrollment

Promotion Week is coming up the week of June 5th! Students in our kids programs should check their class hours and see if they will be eligible for promotion. For most of our kids programs, requirements include a minimum of 24 class hours, parent/teacher consent form and Sensei recommendation. For Jiu Jitsu, the minimum class hours is 48.

The following week will be Open Enrollment for all of our kids programs. New students can join the week of June 12th for our 12 week introductory program! Program descriptions and costs can be found here. Please help us spread the word!

Memorial Day and Open House

As you're probably aware, next Monday the 29th is Memorial Day, and we will be closing for the day. We hope you'll all take some time out of your day to reflect on the sacrifices of the service men and women in the armed forces. As our way of giving thanks, we always offer discounts for classes and for our therapeutic services to members of the military and to their families.

Since it will be a shortened week, the remainder of next week will be an Open House week! All of our classes (kids and adults) are open to newcomers and free to attend.  Students are welcome to invite friends and family! Class participation will be counted toward ranking, but the week will not be counted as part of our 12 week belt cycles in our kids programs, so it's a good time to squeeze in extras if you're behind on hours required for promotions, which will be awarded the following week!

Saturday Schedule Change

Effective immediately, Saturday morning Jiu Jitsu is moving to 10:00am! The class will run until noon and will be followed by wrestling at 12:30. New students are welcome to try a free class!  Class schedule will be updated to reflect this change soon.
