Massage Therapy

We provide professional Therapeutic Massage to students and their families at a discounted rate.  Training in the Martial Arts is strenuous on the body and can sometimes lead to unexpected injuries whether from overuse or acute traumatic incidents.  Our licensed therapist utilizes a broad array of Therapeutic Massage techniques ranging from Therapeutic Thai Bodywork, western style Orthopedic Massage and Kinesio sport taping to help our students recover quickly and fully from any injuries that may occur during training.  Regular maintenance body work is highly recommended even in the absence of injury in order to promote and maintain overall health, flexibility and range of motion.

Our specialty!  Sometimes referred to as assisted Yoga, Thai Massage incorporates compression, trigger point therapy, stretches, range of motion movements, and passive engagement for the ultimate in deep relaxation.  Performed fully clothed on a specially designed Thai massage mat, this amazing form of therapy avoids the discomfort and limitations of traditional Swedish table massage. The practitioner uses hands, feet, knees and elbows to deliver healing where you need it most.  Don’t be intimidated by the idea of stretching during a massage - we assure you that you won’t have to do anything but relax while we do all the work for you! There is no better massage modality for getting down into the deepest layers of tissue, especially in the hips and shoulders. Definitely the preferred modality for athletes & martial artists.  Click here for more information!

Deep Tissue Therapeutic Massage

30 minutes: $35/ $30 for existing students

60 minutes: $65/ $60 for existing students

90 minutes: $95/ $90 for existing students

A little more intense than regular swedish massage, deep tissue incorporates trigger point therapy for those pesky little knots in your neck, shoulder, back, or anywhere else you may carry your tension.  Some of those knots can be pretty tender, so this type of massage can sometimes walk that line between pain and pleasure, but we will always work within your level of tolerance to give you a truly therapeutic experience.  Aromatherapy can also be utilized with this modality.

Orthopedic Massage

Package of six 30 minute sessions: $180($25 per session)

Package of six 60 minute sessions: $300 ($50 per session)

Package of six 90 minute sessions: $450 ($75 per session)

This is for those with very specific physical issues that need sorting out.  It is not generally done as a full body massage because the time is better spent focusing on 1 or 2 areas of complaint.  Since many of the most common musculoskeletal issues (i.e. tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, etc.) are sometimes due to chronic overuse or lifelong postural issues, it is recommended that this type of massage be pursued on a regular basis. We offer affordable package deals for just that purpose.  These types of problems do not develop overnight and cannot be resolved by a single therapy session, so this type of massage will involve establishing a treatment protocol under the guidance of one of our therapists.

Kinesio Taping

Single Taping without Massage: $15 ($10 for existing students)

Single Taping with Massage: $20 ($25 for existing students)

Double Taping with Massage: $25 ($20 for existing students)

Kinesio Taping is a modality treatment based on the body’s own natural healing process. This method basically stems from the science of Kinesiology, recognizing the importance of body and muscle movement in rehabilitation and everyday life.  Using an elastic tape which mimics the elasticity of skin, Kinesio taping is fundamentally different from conventional sports taping which is designed to constrict and immobilize the affected muscles and joints which limits blood and lymph flow and can actually hinder the healing process. Kinesio taping is based on a different philosophy that aims to give free range of motion in order to allow the body’s muscular system to heal itself bio-mechanically.  Some of the beneficial effects of Kinesio Taping include, but are not limited to: improving muscle contraction in weakened muscles; reducing muscle fatigue; reducing over-extension and over-contraction of muscle; reducing cramping and possibility of injury; increasing range of motion; relieving pain; improving blood and lymphatic circulation; and reducing inflammation.
